Maybe I'm missing it... only had my IB a week. Did a search but nothing in forum I could find.
The quickest ways to actually make an image a link I have discovered:
1. Double-click- properties (or use properties added to toolbox), choose Actions.. open doc or file, click set and paste(could make a default link action object in resources to speed this up)
OR
2. Right-click "insert website link... as action object.. drag over image and make transparent boundary and group with image (could also use image icon... resize ....send to back and group)
OR
3. Drag the bookmark icon from Safari to the image... resize, make invisible and group to image
PS I know there is the thumbnail image option in the Promethean browser.. but I have turned this off due to the frailties of the browser in use, also you can drag any image from a site and it automatically creates the link as an action object on the image which you can then quickly edit to suit, but I often start with my own custom image.
I want a two step process (click and paste link!) as will I use this a lot.... did I miss something?

You can also drag the link directly from the URL address into My (or Shared) Web Links, and then drag it back out on to the page. This will create a link that is a small globe icon. I'd love to be able to change these default icons (there are also default icons for sound and video files.)

If you're happy with a text object as a link, you can drag the icon just to the left of the URL on to the page. If you're working in Firefox, you'll get a text object that is the title of the page - not the URL. This is the way I usually add a link to a flipchart page.

You're doing pretty well for a week .....:-/:-/:-/:-/:-/

I would suggest using the Promethean Web browser. Using studio you need to get the web icon from the toolstore first and put it on your toolstore. I have mine underneath the page turn options. Click on it to open a web window and type in the url (or copy and paste it from IE). Click on the link button (chain) and then you can select how you want to save the address. I tend to use as a thumbnail so that when I go back at a later date I have a small picture of the website to refresh my memory.

If you right click, insert web link and insert it as a text object, you can then edit the text object (with actions off) to anything you like, so a long complex url can be simplified to a short word or phrase.

Suggestions are good... Jeans one being another way to add to the new, but obviously the image to link process is not as quick as I hoped. Might see what I can do with an activator action.
