The blog (http://www.Prometheanplanet.com/blog) seems to get a lot of traffic from all over the place.... so what do you think so far?
Have you used it?
Have you subscribed to the feed or embedded the feed in your own blog or website?
Is the balance of news and information and ideas right?
Would you like to see more blogs covering more topics - such as specific subjects or technologies or regional?
Do you want to know more about how to use these types of technology in class - 21st Century skills
Are there model blogs or other social networking tools we should take a look at?Please share your thoughts?
Hi Mark,
First of all, I like it.
So:
Yes
I am subscribed through my Google reader.
I think the balance is good, I skim some posts but read others in detail. (Sign of a good blog, I reckon)
Not sure about whether I'd like to more/different blogs. For me, the existing one does the job. The tagging of posts makes it so that specialist interests can be covered that way.
Yes
As for other SN tools, my first thoughts are about personal profiles. Suppose, as members, our profile pages could have links to 'our flps' or 'our favourite flps' - these could be tagged/categorised in some way and would 'live' online. Also, along these lines, some kind of social bookmarking facility of flps on planet (does this already exist?) would be useful; I'm thinking something along the lines of 'Stumble Upon (http://www.stumbleupon.com/)' or the Amzon thing of 'People who liked this also liked this:' Another advantage to this would be that we'd have 'flps on the move' so we could carry around a 'portfolio' of flps accessible wherever there's the internet available. However, I do appreciate that this would have massive space/storage implications.

Thanks for the feedback....
I think the last point is more about Planet Functionality than the blog - but I am sure they will be reviewing that idea.

Hi Mark,
Interesting post! When I started looking at the blog I tried to comment on an article, but it said that they have to be reviwed, or something like that, can't really remember, and the comments never appeared. Must say it put me off a bit. I still read it, but I don't try and add comments, as I guess it's in the back of my mind that they won't appear anyway, so what's the point? Fairly sure it was just bad luck, but I thought I'd post anyway in case it's happened to anyone else!

I didn't have any problems posting a comment. Do keep trying, Alison.:confused::confused:

Currently it is set to ask for an adminsitrator to approve your FIRST comment.
After that, if you use the same credentials (e-mail address - which remains hidden), they should post automatically.
But this is why we wanted feedback. It is getting hits every few minutes and we want it to become more of a conversation like this forum. So we will review the approval now that we have seen little evidence of spam postings, etc.

Any ideas why my comment wasn't approved? Funny, I just checked. It was a comment on one of your articles! +wave+

It was the current blog - I use the link at the top of the forum page. To be honest I can't remember what I wrote that time. I promise I'll try again sometime on a new article. +wave+
