ARe there any resources on Planet showing examples of how activotes are being used as formative assessment?

I think that it is great question. How does one define formative? For me, it has to do with NOT giving the answer but for a way for students to give feedback and explore the answers. That's one reason, I typically don't set the "correct" answer with my pages that have activote questions.

There is a really good Teacher Feature (the very first one, I think) about Gautam Saha, a chemistry teacher in Norcross, GA. It really got me thinking....! You may want to look at his video here:

Also, see what you think about this Flipchart: Always, Sometimes, Never. It allows students to explore math statements and think about whether they are always, sometimes or never true.
