We've just purchased a set of 32 Activote devices, I was under the impression that all we needed were compatible boards and the activote's and that the ActiveHub is only required for older boards or for use without a board.

Our boards arent working with them at all, they register once the activehub is attached though.

This is normal according to tech support - is it really? they worked with just the board at another school I visited last year.. I'm really put off by having to use an additional hub when the boards have them already. We intended for the pack to be mobile and to be split as and when needed.

Cheers

Hello, James. The 78" Activboard has a built-in 915 MHz radio transceiver which will allow it to communicate with the older 915 MHz Activotes, model PRM-AV2. The newer votes operate on a separate frequency (2.4GHz) that is not transmitted by the board and as such do require the hub.

The new votes cannot be split up without a hub and even with the hub cannot be used together with the older votes. However, these votes register directly to the hub, so that when the hub moves from room to room the votes stay registered to it, hopefully improving their mobility.

Daniel - as ever - is spot on!
You have the new improved version James. You will find set-up videos of this product on the website to help you out. Just search under Activote.
