We are trying to attach a song as an action. However, when we click to play the song it will only play for a few seconds. Any suggestions on how to get the entire song to play? Some computers it is playing the whole song but others it won't, even though we are attaching the song in the same way. Is there a preference that could be making this happen?

It sounds like a laptop/computer setting - AP/AS can play for ever if a sound is that long.....

Margaret is right, that AP/AS will play the whole song.

But I will say this, I was having this problem a few weeks ago during the Activ08 Conference in Boston. I was using AS on a Mac, and for some reason it was only playing the first 10 seconds of my sound files. Then my computer started running really slow. So I did a re-start and everything came back running fast, and my songs played all the way through.

Could just need a re-start. Try that and see if it works.

If not, why not hook up a mic and do a little karaoke for your students?:D:D (Just kidding, unless you do have a great voice! [clap])

I am also having a problem with AS on Mac playing only a few seconds of a song that is either linked or embedded. I have reset the toolboxes, restarted, etc. Nothing seems to work.

Any other ideas?

Test to see what happens if you change in the preferences...linked file hosting....sound and untick the boxes to allow the os x sound sys to take over.. easy to change back if it doesn't work.

Yes, not having the clip "linked" opens up Quicktime and the file plays properly. However, the question is how we can take care of the bug that will not let the sound clip play longer than 5 seconds without having to open up Quicktime. If you guys find a solution, let me know. I am thinking it has to do with a memory issue.

I have encountered this problem for quite a while. It's a mystery to me...but I sure would love to see it solved.
