I would like to take a picture of the "tool box" that appears when you right click on a flipchart page. I went to studiosettings and selected tools. Then I checked the box at the top that allows the camera to capture toolboxes, but it still won't capture the right click box. Does anyone know if it is possible to do so and how?

I couldn't figure that one out either... I have a feeling the right click thing isn't a "real" tool box. A good work-around might be to record the right click using the full-screen recorder, and then taking a picture from your video. I can do it, if you want, but it might be fun to try it out...

I frequently use the print screen key and then paste it (into word or photo software) and crop. You could also paste it into studio and use the camera to get just the part you want.

Leave it to Heather to come up with a better and easier solution than mine... Thanks again, Temske!

There's also a free screen capture tool called ScreenHunter 5 Free (available for download at http://www.wisdom-soft.com/sh/index.htm) that allows you to capture any part of your screen, including a right-click menu. You can put the image on the clipboard, or make a jpeg, gif, or bmp file. I used this when I was putting some training materials together, and it worked very well. And, like I mentioned, it's free.:):)
This is even easier to do on the Mac - you just hold down shift-apple, 4, and you can also take a picture of any part of the screen. This keystroke combination creates a png file on the desktop. If you hold down shift-control-apple, 4 you place the image on the clipboard.

I use the PrntScrn option for all of my instructional flipcharts. After a lot of trial and error, I have found that it is easiest to paste the image into the flipchart; then use the cameral tool as was previously mentioned.

Thank you for these nice ideas, but it is easier with activstudio.
Please click on main menu > studio settings > option right click > tick use camera tool > and set up the time (seconds) how long you have to hould the right click to open the camera tool.
With this option you can copy any area of the context menus ;)
Hope this is the option you was searching for :o

[clap][clap][clap] I am so glad that there is an easy solution to this question. I am currently in the level 3 class and I just recently asked this question. I am glad to know that it can be done in activstudio! Thank you sooooo much!

I followed June's suggestion and downloaded ScreenHunter 5 Free and it's working great.

Using the Studio Settings option that Armin describes above is a QUICK fix - just a change of the setting and it will always allow you to take shots of the toolbar. If you are ever trying to explain a tool or show a picture of one, this is so quick.
Just a click on the camera icon, then paste it right into the flipchart page.

If you're a Mac user just use command+shift+4 to get capture box for anything on the screen. Just drag your area, it saves the image to the desktop.
Guys,
Thanks for sharing these tips about the camera tool. I actually went into studio settings and followed Amin's advice, and it's made it a lot easier when getting images for my resources folder without rolling out the entire toolbox. One question though: If I try to take a picture of an image that extends below the screen border, when I click the scroll arrow to move down and catch the entire image, I lose the area that I had previously selected. I have tried freehand as an option instead of capturing the area, but the same thing happens. I'd love some suggestions for how to remedy this. Let me know what works for you.

Have you tried reducing the page size before you take the photo? Reduce the page size until the whole area you want to capture is showing and then take the picture.

Carrie's suggestion is great! Go to the Page Scale and choose 'Best Fit' and this should allow the whole image to fit on the page.
Hope this works!
