I know I read about this somewhere, but can't find it now! And I KNOW there is someone here that can help me [clap]

If you have an image that you will be using regularily, how can you put it into "My Resources" in the library? I know you can drag it over to the tool bar roll out but that will fill up fast...

Thanks in advance ;)

how can you put it into "My Resources" in the library?
Open the resource library, click on the single person at the top (My Resource Library) and then click on the 4th icon down the side (My Images) or the 1st icon (My Collections). Drag your image onto the library. :)

You can also right click in the resource library and add folders, so you can manage all the images that you put in there. You can also add folders using the resource manager.

I was wondering how to add a graphic organizer that is a pdf file to the resource library. I was trying to change the file name, drag and drop, and importing, nothing seems to work. Can I get some help?

If you have a Mac, you can apparently just import from a PDF. Thats no fun for us PC folk, but I tend to use the camera tool to take a picture of the PDF I want to use.

Hope this helps!

You can also copy it from its current location on your hard drive into the appropriate resource folder using Windows Explorer (PC) or Finder (Mac). On the PC, the My Resources folders are located at c:\Documents and Settings\(Whatever your user name is)\My Documents\Activstudio3\My (Resource Type). On the Mac, the My Resources folders are located at Users\(Whatever your user name is)\Documents\Promethean\Activstudio3\My (Resource Type). On the Mac, if you navigate to the location of a pdf in the Resource Library and then click on the document in the top pane, you can preview it page by page in the bottom pane. I don't know if that works on the PC or not.

Let us know if you need more info.

Thanks June and Ben, as usual I was trying to make it too difficult. Not sure why I always think everything has to be so hard.

Ben, I am lovin' me some planet also... I kinda hate that school starts here in less then 2 weeks and I won't be able to drink coffee and search through the planet for new discoveries. But then I can go back to using my ActivBoard on a full time basis again. Ya know my friend and I would have put them in our living rooms and played all summer... wonder if they can come up with a home version we could play on at home:eek:!

What if you have the resource library open and right click on the image and add to library is not bold? I know there is a way to do this but my brain is fried and I am not having luck at the moment. Thank you in advance for any help. :)Jeanne

When you click on the image, it should have "handles." Drag it by the "hand-handle" into your resource library that you have opened.

Personally, I think I use right click just for adding pages and backgrounds to the resource library.

jvines - For the graphic organizer. Try taking a picture of the organizer from the .pdf with the camera tool and saving it right into your library as an image once you take the pic.

This would be the easy way out for me!

Let me know if this works.

Of course, I don't want to dam your new surprise.

If you have a bit cash to share, I will recommend SnagIt 9.0. Beautiful tool for screen capture and editing.
