Hi,

I am looking for innovative ways to differentiate learning for kids with moderate to severe cognitive disabilities. I have heard of people adapting the different tools, different ways to access the board but have never seen any true examples or seen any pictures. I am looking for innovative ways to do things...concrete examples.

I work for a special education co-op and I am VERY interested in hearing how others use the board and it's tools to make a difference for "their" kids.

Thanks in advance for all of your help! +wave+

I'm not a special ed teacher but I did find some videos and resources that might help you out.

Try looking at this video on this page:
Diana Strohecker - Using Activboards for Special Needs Students

Also, I think that Katie King, a "Teacher Feature" is also a special ed teacher. See:

Here is a "case study" from the Texas School for the Deaf:

And here is a news story about a disabled child using Promethean technology
http://www.prometheanworld.com/us/server/show/ConWebDoc.1924

Finally, I found this "Whitepaper" about Special Needs and Activclassrooms
http://www.prometheanworld.com/us/server/show/nav.1071

I'm not sure if this is the type of information will meet your specific request though but I hope it helps!

Maybe others can chime in!

Thanks so much for all the great resources! I really hope to talk to more people. I want to learn more about how to use the board and software with Assistive Technology as well. The resources provided so far are a great addition to my arsenal for wooing my school board to the Promethean world! LOL

Thanks and please keep them coming! [clap]

Lisa, have you seen any case studies on personal response systems and learning disabilities or universal design for learning?

There was a Special Education Theme recently which compiled stories and resources as a collection. Perhaps you will find some good info there?
