Hello!

I am new to Promethean Planet and the technologies associated with it. I have been experimenting with the Activboard and I have a quick question. When writing text using the Recognition Tool, I have noticed that the erase tool does not erase the text. I know the Undo function will get rid of some of that text, but I was wondering if there is a tool that will completely clear the workspace of writing.

Any help will be appreciated!

Thank you!

Hi Miguel,

Welcome to the forum!

The eraser tool won't work when using the recognition tool as it changes that tool changes your writing from an annotation to text. If you want to just clear a text box (or any object for the matter) select it and then click the bin. Or double click on it and click the bin in the menu that appears.

If you want to clear the entire flipchart page the fastest way to do this to use the clear tool. Looks like a spray bottle on your toolbar. But be warned, text is considered an object and so are shapes and clipart. If you use the spray bottle to clear the object it will remove everything from that particular layer.

Have you been to www.prometheanlearning.com (http://www.prometheanlearning.com) yet? You can complete level one accrediation for free here. It is great for learning the basics of the software and explains how some important and very powerful features of the software (like layering and the eraser tool) work.

I would also recommend that you have a look at previous threads in the various forums. You can do this by clicking on the actual name of the forum. The search tool is also great for finding threads that might answer your questions!

Thank you for your help, Janice. I have just registered with Prometheanplanet.com today. Our school got the Activboard installed just last week, so it's very new to us. Still, we are very excited by what we've seen, although I'm sure it's just the tip of the iceberg.

I will visit the site that you suggested, as well as pass the info along to my principal. It seems like that could be useful for all of my colleagues.

Thanks again!
Miguel
