The learning Clips website now offer maths ‘clips’ that can be used with Activote…and some are even in German!

So how is this different to using activote in desktop mode? - Well in this case... the multimedia reacts to the learners inputs automatically..... It is fully integrated with the devices.

For those of you that haven’t discovered Learning Clip, the site comprehensively covers the new Primary Framework for Mathematics Year 3 and has just started to also cover Year 4, via online activities, known as ‘clips’.

http://blog.Prometheanplanet.com/wp-content/uploads/2008/06/learningclip.jpg

Each of the clips are introduced by Triangle Man (which the kids love!) so they have an idea of what they will be covering, plus, there is also a plenary video to summarise the activity.

If you have an Activote set - then you will also find that the online activites can be made to respond to the responses from your class! There are instructions about what you can download to make them work on the site.

You can visit the Learning Clip website at www.learningclip.co.uk (http://www.learningclip.co.uk/)

The Activote enabled versions are here: http://www.learningclip.co.uk/block.aspx?c=sample-voting-activities

PS: Did I mention that the clips are free?!

That's great, Mark - I really like these activities anyway and this just make it even better! Perfect time too as I'm currently training up one of our Y3 teachers on Activote! The instructions mention needing AS3 - would I be right to think it would be AP3 too?

Yes - should work with both.

Let us know how you get on.... A few other companies have developed software that works like this in an integrated way. There is really no other educational multimedia software that behaves this way at the moment - but we think it is the way of the future - far cheaper to involve each child with their response devices than giving them PCs. It also lets people get a tonne more value from their Activote investment.

Mark mentioned AIMER, and as someone who used it to review for their state test (and many other fun things), and I now see the results on my state's website: my kids did awesome! Can't wait to see their individual score reports!!! If you haven't heard about it or seen it, its a really fun game the kids absolutely love, as they answer quesitons using their votes, and then run a race (where the winner is the team who had the most "correct" answers will win)... Its really a lot of fun, and there is a free 30-day trial on their website (download when you have kids, though... its 30 calendar days, not 30 usage days!)...

Just my two cents!

I've just visited the e-gadget site and it states that the site is designed for 'original activote devices'. How do I know if I have original devices or the 2.4 version?

I've only had my activotes a week or so, so I am assuming I have 2.4.

Can anyone help?
