Hey
Is there any reason to keep AS 2 on my computer? Will i lose cool things if I erase it?

thanks

I took mine off several months ago, and I haven't missed it. You may want to make sure that you copy any resources from the V2 My Resources library to the V3 My Resources library. Both of these can be found in Documents/Promethean. There is a folder for Activstudio2 and anothe one for Activstudio. It's probably easiest to open two Finder windows and just drag the folders from V2 to V3.

Uninstalling AS2 won't remove your personal Resource Library, but yes it is a good idea to amalgamate the resources into your personal Library in AS3.
When you first launch AS3, there is a prompt asking if you want to migrate your existing Library across to the new version. That copies all your My... folders into the newly-created empty folders for your version3 Library.
If you did that then all your resources will already be there (as well as still in the AS2 Library).

I have been thinking of doing this for a while. I just hadn't got the nerve to do the delete. You have given me the courage. :)

I would say that at this point, it makes sense to get rid of AS 2 on your computer. I did it a few months back, and haven't looked back.

I know that when you call tech support they will always make sure you are running the latest version of the software. So if you run into problems with AS 2, you are on your own.

As a safety net, you can always burn AS2 onto a disk, or drop it onto a hard drive. My guess is that in a few months, you will never use that disc, and end up throwing it away. But it can offer you piece of mind, which is priceless. (I sound like a MasterCard Commerical! :D:D)

Just make sure your files are saved and then once you install AS3, you can remove AS2.

In my case I've been on 3 for a year and a half. It just kept the old files as well. I was know they appeared totally stand alone but I was concerned that deleting 2 might somehow delete some little file that would mess up three. I did the transfer of files at the time so I haven't even looked at it since then - guess it's time to go.
