Template 044

When creating your own flipchart, can anyone tell me if they've had any problems with template 044 (MC - 1-7 Labels). When I click onto the next or previous pages, a 'text box' covers my questions. I can temporarily fix this problem by highlighting over the text box, but it reappears after I've moved onto the next page.

I would really appreciate some advice.

Hi Claire - This is the Expression templates you're referring to right? How are you using the page? Are you building the flipchart from the Wizard within Expression? I've tried accessing the page through the Activprimary and Activstudio resource libraries and also tried using the Expression Question wizard to make a flp using this template and I can't replicate the problem. Could you give me a little more info about how you are creating the Flipchart and at what point the problem occurs? If so, I'll take a closer look and see if I can get to the bottom of it for you.

Thank you for your reply.

I open up Active expression using my Expression Edition Shortcut. I then open up a new flipchart. Once open, I then refer to Expression Question Wizard, following the instructions on multiple choice. When I reach the template section, I click 'Replace page content using a template'. Before I had a problem with template 044, however, yesterday I noticed that a couple of other templates, under MC, were also giving me the same issues!

Hi - Sorry about the delay with this, my laptop with Expression on died a sudden death...no connection there though I'm sure! I've got some time pencilled in on Thursday to get everything Expression related installed on my new computer and take a look at the issue. In the meantime, any screenshots you could provide would be great! I'll feedback when I have info...

On another issue, is there any way of duplicating flipcharts which can later be cut and pasted? At the moment, I'm typing out flipcharts which are of a familiar content and it would be quicker if I could cut and paste.

I've had a good look at the issue now and can't replicate it myself. What is the bit on the page that say's 'predictions'? Is it an object that you've added to the page manually?

What would really help is if you could send me the flipchart - either upload it here or send it to sarah.aspden@prometheanworld.com

Regarding the question you just asked, you could use the Flipchart Builder application in Activstudio/Activprimary V3 to compile Flipcharts by mixing and matching pages from other Flipcharts.

You would then be able to open these Flipcharts in Expression and add question settings if this is what you wanted to do.

Also using Flipchart Builder, you could compile a Flipchart from old Activote ready pages (with question setttings in etc). Expression is already set up to work with Activote pages so the settings wouldn't need adding again.

Not sure if this is actually what you were asking, or if I totally missed the point.....!

Hi there - We think we've got to the bottom of this now. This issue will be fixed in the v1.1 release but until the patch is released (hopefully within the next month or two), try this...

When the box comes up over your question asking if you want to ask the question on the page, select the check box that says 'do not show this message again'. This should (fingers crossed!) resolve the issue but you will have to start the question on the Flipchart by using the toolbar on the right-hand side.
