Linking sounds question...

If anyone know the answer.... I would love some help. I love the new addition in the shared collections folder entitled Promethean Partners. I am having trouble linking the sounds listed here to an object. When I go under properties, actions, then sound, I can not access the folders with these sounds in them. I have tried moving the sounds to the folders that appear, but the sounds do not show up when I go through the menu within the properties settings. I would love any help you can offer. Some questions that might help us figure this out for you.

Are you running on PC or Mac?
Also what version of AS are you running? If it is not 3.6, my first suggestion would be to upgrade to that.

I'm on a PC and I am upgraded to 3.6. ?? Somehow, I can not get the extra sounds to "be available" from the Set sound section within the action.

I am not trying to sound mean here, but are you staying in the Shared Sounds folder? I just did that for about five minutes before I remembered that the sounds are not saved in the Shared Sounds folder, but in the Shared Collections folder, so I had to navigate a hot minute to try to find them. Once I got back to "Shared Collections" though, it was easy!

As an aside - where did you get this 'Promethean Partners' addition? I can't find it in my Resource Library. What is in that folder?
Maybe it is shipped with the US install CDs? (this is where giving your location in your Profile is really helpful...)

I think this "folder" is created when you download a "partner" resource pack.

An example is the Brainpop General Resource Pack

Personally, I am only aware of that one but perhaps there are others like this in the works.

This resource pack does includes a bunch of sounds.

Thanks for that Lisa - sounds pretty convincing to me.
I haven't (yet) installed that particular pack, so that folder hasn't been created.

Here is the path to link to the BrainPop Partner sounds on a PC - version 3.6. When you choose the Play Sound action, you have to 'Set' it and find the path to the BrainPop sounds.
Here is the path on the PC (get ready - its lengthy):
C: drive > Documents and Settings > All Users > Shared Documents > Activ Software > Activstudio 3 > Shared Collections > Promethean Partners > BrainPop > General > Sounds.

This path should take you to the Brainpop sounds and you should be able to link them with a Play Sound action this way (on a PC).
