I was happy to see Secondary Math but was wondering if there are any resource packs for Secondary Science. We have a lot of teachers who use Promethean Boards for Earth Science and Biology (required 9th and 10th grade courses in CA). Do you know if there are any plans to work on this? I've started to gather some things but haven't had enough time since I support teachers with the boards in all subject areas.

Thanks,

Mici

The resource library has tons of existing resources for science.

As far as backgrounds, in the science section, you will find folders with backgrounds for Chemistry, Biology and Space.

The image library also has tons of images for Science including Life Sciences, Physical Science, Chemistry....

But I would also add that you might want to search for flipcharts already created on Planet.

Searching by keyword, I found:
Chemistry: 46
Biology: 32
Cells: 15
Anatomy: 20
Magnets: 4
Atom: 12
Scientific Method: 40

Obviously, some of these may or may not be appropriate for high school but...

Searching for grades 9-12 AND science, it listed 850 flipcharts!

Each of these can be downloaded and your teachers can use them as they are or modify them and/or combiine them!

I would also suggest that you point them to Gautam Saha's Teacher Feature.

Really good stuff there!

Mici,

Lisa got to it before I could, but I echo her in saying that you have to check out Gautam Saha's Teacher Feature. Just an amazing way to use the Activclassroom for Science.

What types of resources are you looking for? If you let Lisa know I have a feeling that you might see them as a Resource Pack! :)

Yes, let me know. I just don't want to duplicate what we already have in the existing library. If someone can let me know what's missing, I can try to locate the items!

As some of you may know, I'm a geologist by trade and have a great collection of Earth Science resources, so if you can be patient, I'll put these together in a resource pack as soon as I get a few days free!

Peter,

That is amazing, and I can't believe I didn't know that little factoid about you! Even though I couldn't imagine teaching geology if you paid me, it surely will be amazing, and I can't wait to see what the master has in store for us with a resource pack!
