Hello,

I'm having a problem when using Camtasia Studio and recording a flipchart. Regardless of whether I start Camtasia or Activ Studio first, sometimes, not always, I will be working in the flipchart, recording the session, and the entire screen will go white. I can close ActivStudio, restart ActivStudio, and continue with the lesson. What would cause the screen to go white and require a restart of the program.

Thanks,

Lynn ????

We found that when the screen goes white it was an update issue... we needed to update! If yours is upto date I would then start ringing Promethean and taking to their experts... Good luck.

Camtasia is an awesome software package, but it does take a lot of processing power. If you are just looking to record parts of the lesson, have you looked into the "Full Screen Recorder" tool in Activstudio?

I agree with Scott. Using the in-house recording tool (either Screen recorder or Area recorder) may be your best option here! It really is simple to use, and it will record everything you do on the screen so well!

Let us know how your project works out!

I took your advice, and I upgraded the Activstudio from 3.5.24 to 3.6.14. So far, I'm not having the error I did before. I will let you know if it happens again.

Thanks for the advice. So far so good.

Hi Scott,
Camtasia does not need extraordinary processing power. I use it on a 5 year old laptop with 1GB ram and WinXP.
Also the flash output of Camtasia recording are remarkably small files compared to avi output.
