I am completely stumped !
I am trying to become as proficient on my Mac as my PC, but I am having the hardest time installing, uninstalling, and reinstalling ACTIVstudio on my Mac. I cannot get it to read the resources! I have read the thread here, followed the path to install the resources, but I am evidently having a blonde moment:
http://www.Prometheanplanet.com/common/html/vb_forum/showthread.php?t=4251&highlight=shared+resources+mac

I am making sure that the resources are sent to the ACTIVstudio 3 folder when installing, but when completing a search they are not there! If I look in the ACTIVstudio 3 folder, they are easily seen. I have tried reindexing the resources too, but no luck there either (0 files shows).

What am I doing wrong? My Mac is Version 10.4.11MacBook Pro 2.2????

Hi Donna,

Using the Mac's spotlight search tool (Apple F), try doing a search for Shared Collections. You may find several folders if you have Primary as well as older versions installed.

You can see at the bottom of the search screen where they are located on the Mac hard drive and can click on the folder navigate there. This will help you know they are where they should be.

I do this often when building resource packs and use it when I want to move big chunks of things from one place in the resource library to another.

See what's in there first and if it's in the right place, then we'll have to see why its not showing up!

I will attach a screenshot of my search results to see if that helps you out!

You could also try opening up your Studio Preferences, select Profiles and Resources and change the link to where your resource folders are located on your computer. If you select Another Location and the ... it will allow you to navigate through your hard drive to the folders.

It sounds to me like the resources aren't installing to the default area for some reason. The above solution should hopefully work!

Thanks Lisa...
I tried this last night, and found out why my hard drive was almost full - I had installed, uninstalled, and reinstalled over 38 times!!! I am baffled why I still had them on my mac when had uninstalled them. So, I manually deleted each from here. I did look at all of the places each was installing. This was strange b/c some went to applications, my documents and my computer. Some of them even installed within another ACTIVstudio application! The last time I tried to reinstall it last night, I sent it directly to ACTIVstudio 3 folder. When I did the search, nothing came up. I did an advance search to look and found them in a tier series of ACTIVstudio applications. I finally gave up last night.

I have my mac here, but not the software. I completely walked out of the house without it absentmindedly. I will try reinstalling it again tonight. I did do another Apple F search, and everything is gone. Hopefully, tonight I will have better luck.
