I somehow got some random object into my toolbar. Now I don't know how to get rid of it! Can anyone help me with that? I don't know how it got there and I can't add anything else to it and I know there is room.. Also what is up with those user defined buttons? I totally don't get those things!

You can only take things off of your toolbar in the toolstore.
Go to the menu:
Customize
Toolstore
Drag the object off of your toolbar and it will disappear.
Right clicking on the user defined buttons will bring up some options for what you want them to be. I have made them into web links before and then they turn into globes instead.
Hope that helps!

User-defined buttons can also be used to Open other applications, or even a particular file. You will see the icon representing that app appear in the 3rd row.
You do need to Browse through to find the .exe file to launch the application, which isn't always possible on school computers where the teacher may not have full Administrator Rights :(

You probably accidentally dragged the object over the toolbar and it obligingly installed itself there. It is very easy to do and you will find it very useful once you get used to it.

Hi
You can't add other tools onto the shortcut bar but you can drag resources onto it - so if you've got an object on the page that you know you would use again that drag it onto the shortcut bar & you can use it again & again whenever you like without opening the resource library

I recommend adding resources to the Shortcut bar which are going to be used frequently over a short period of time. So if this week you are teaching about acute, obtuse and reflex angles, you might have examples of each on the Shortcut Bar but keep a copy in My Resources so that they are there for the long term. At the end of the week remove them and add resources for the following week's topic.

Jonna,
Did you get the item off your toolbar?
If not, try taking a picture of your toolbar and post it here, so we can see what it on there.
I just learned that in the Studio prefs you can set if you want your camera tool to take pictures of the toolbars or not. I love how I am always learning new things about AS! :)
