Question about append text

I am a beginner coming from china.I am now learning the Level 1 advance course and I met a problem.In Topic 5 tutorial 3,you can click text to put it into the text box above ,and the box change its length when you put more texts in it.But when I practise, the text box dosen't change its length when i put text in it ,and if the length of text is more than the text box ,it can't be displayed.Why?How can I do as the tutorial?:confused:

Hi yuelk and welcome to the forum!

When you append text, you need to make sure you actually have a starting point in the text box. This is the most common first mistake (I still make it), so that the text has a place to start. Once you have the first word, letter, number, or even just a blank SPACE the append text tool will automatically make the text box grow as much as it needs to for the amount of text you have added.

I have attached a VERY crude example I made for you that I hope will show what I mean. Also, somewhere else on the forum someone posted an amazing sample that gives very basic directions (with ActivPrimary, but the steps are the same) on how to do this, and I am going to repost them here as well (it was sitting on my desktop, and you need it!). I hope they help!

Thank you so much for your help especially the excellent flipcharts. But my text box refuse to change even following your steps.
However,if I paste your text box to my flipchart ,it is all right!!
I am crazy!!:mad:
After a few time thinking, when I change the software language from Chinese to English...........It is OK!!
I think it is just a bug for Chinese Version.....

That is interesting. Glad to hear you finally figured out what the problem was. Does anyone on the tech side of things know why the Append Text action wouldn't work for the Chinese language?
