Hi everyone,

I've just discovered the forum after having rather frustrating experience with Activ Primary. I've found a wonderful resource that I'm going to use as a self registration tool for my foundation class but I can't get the names to stay (or lock) on the little icons(ladybird) that have been pre designed. All I have to do is add the names on top of the little ladybirds but they just won't move with the ladybird. I'm sure it's something to do with layering but I haven't quite grasped that concept as yet, help!??

Are you left clicking to draw an imaginary box large enough around the bird and the name? Then are you grouping it?

See attached to see if it will possibly help you...

And although I am not a Primary expert, we leave that to Margaret, many things in Primary needs to be done in designer mode. Hope that helps.

Page 14 of ACTIVPrimary 3 pdf does have the steps listed like I suggested...I just demonstrated in ACTIVstudio. That's all...

Thanks,

Hi everyone,

Thanks so much for your feedback. I've had another go with it after reading the info. I understand what I have to do and think I could do it but I'm having difficulty selecting 2 items at once to do it? Hope this isn't a really stupid question, sorry everyone!

Hi,

To select multiple items (without using a 'drag to group' technique) hold down the 'Ctrl' key as you click each of your chosen objects.

Once selected, the items can then be grouped.

A similar strategy can be used for deselecting selected items.

This technique applies in many situations, selecting emails from a list, cells in a spreadsheet, files from a list etc.
