I thought I had seen a "gadget/widget" that rolled 6 sided dice. I thought too, it could choose the number of dice on the screen.

Can someone tell me where to get it?
thanks

Here's a resource pack called "Math Collection." (This is the US one!)

http://www.prometheanplanet.com/us/server/show/ConResource.13242

It has many flash dice and other neat math things.

I've installed that pack but still don't see that die. I have rebooted and reindexed. I see new dice and get 8 sided, 12 sided etc. Where am I missing it??????

No. I don't specifically see a 6-sided one! I think it may be because there is a built-in six sided dice within the application itself.

Is there something you are trying to do that this one won't allow?

Yes, I would like to use a six sided but don't see one. I thought the six might be built in too, alas I cannot find the six sided. I know I've seen it. I believe it even lets you choose how many of them you want.

Any thoughts???

There is a dice in the power tool toolstore.
and you can select number of dice. This is probably what you mean.

I have installed that pack but how do I get the die in it to roll? It may seem a silly question but I'm fairly new to this software.

Thanks.

Make sure actions are turn on/off.
I went to the dashboard
found the tab that contains the toolstore
in the tool store you will find and large gray arrow that is disable/enable actions.

drag that to your floating menu

when you click it and it has a slash thru it, you cannot perform actions but can move objects

when is is without the slash it should roll

Also check you have the latest Flash player from Adobe:

http://www.adobe.com/shockwave/download/download.cgi?P1_Prod_Version=ShockwaveFlash

When material is authored in the latest versions of flash, it generally requires a recent version of the player. With older Flash players installed you may see the swf but nothing actually happens when you click the object.

Thank you jayceblu & Daniel. I have installed the latest Shockwave but I still can't get the die from the Resource Pack to roll. However, the die form the "dice man" flipchart, that you posted on the forum Dan, work no problem. I am just dragging the Math Collection die into a flipchart. I'm assuming that's correct.

The dice from the resource pack are interactive - but there are also some pictures of dice in a Mathematics folder ( your library structure maybe different to mine) that aren't interactive.

Does the cursor change to a hyperlink arrow when you roll over the dice?

Pamela_T,

Also, and I know this may sound mean, but make sure you are looking in the right place! I was looking all day in the shared images mathematics folder, and those are not the interactive dice, but pictures of dice. The interactive dice are in the Shared Collections MATH folder!

Let me know if you have any luck!
