View Full Version : Embed File Actions
This has always been a mystery to me.
What does "Embed File Actions" do to a flipchart?

Embed File Actions basically will embed linked documents if they weren't embedded when the links were first made. It used to be more useful in earlier versions (especially version 1) than it is now. It does have a down size. It will try to embed web links which of course can't be embedded, and so produce an error message. Basically I train teachers to embed as they go along. It's more straightforward.

Gautam,
A more simple explanation is this: I make an Action Item, but the file is not embedded. Do this action, and now it is! I use it when I take a picture from a movie to make the action item, instead of the windows media player thing or something, so that all my videos are always ready for me.
Hope this helps...

Hi Louise
I never realised it was a bug! I only use it rarely.

I'm assuming this is the syntax error I get I try to link a website using the 'thumbnail image'- has there been a fix yet?

No the error we're talking about is when all links are embedded at the end of the creation process.
If you're using the Promethean web browser to create a link to a web site as a thumbnail image, there shouldn't be a problem, which really isn't very helpful of me:o
If you want to upload the flip with the web site you're trying to link to, I'll check it out.
