????

Hi All,

I know it'll pain some of you, but I need to ask...

I need to use some of my flipcharts produced on and for ACTIVstudio in our Primary Feeder schools. Problem is, they all have SMART boards! Can I somehow export flp files to the smart version, or something? I could do with things still being fairly interactive if possible, although I appreciate that I may lose some of the more interesting things in the flps.

I reckon I could project onto their boards with my laptop connected to their projector, but it would be better to use their computers, to be honest.

Hope you all can help.

Craig

It pains ALL of us Craig:D

There's a thread here although it's not very helpful http://www.prometheanplanet.com/common/html/vb_forum/showthread.php?t=5089&highlight=smart. You could always download the Flipchart Viewer onto the machine you'll be using.

The only option to maintain any kind of interaction and media support is for them to license the Activsoftware which is a popular option available in the UK. They then get access to all the features, special tools and planet resources

The Viewer will also work - but has no save and no authoring/editing capability

SMART try to read the Promethean files and have a FLP import option when you open files - but it may not work and will not support many interactions and any of the action objects and offer access to the same interactive toolset enjoyed in your school, etc.

You have to think if teachers will persist using something that is broken or is severely compromised so that that it does not work as described before going down the non-promethean route.

A Promethean standardisation also allows options for cluster/feeder school based CPD and training and transferrable skills to the kids moving across.
