Hi guys,
I want to be able to create a page that has a picture of a printer on it, and when you click the image of a printer I want a piece of paper to 'print out' along the path and display at its finished point.
I have attached what I've got so far (a printer with the 'printed page' behind it which you can drag out along a path)
I have tried a few things now and can't get it going! Is it actually possible?
Thanks
Dave

Hi Dave
Here's my version. I've explained in the Page Notes what I've done using the Position Incrementally action but it means that the printer needs to be clicked repeatedly to reveal the paper.
Another option would be to use Position Top Left where the parameters are the x, y coordinates of where you want the top left of the object to be. However this means that with one click the object moves immediately to it's end position.
On the second page I've played with a snapshot of the front part of the printer and moved it to the front of the middle layer. I've brought the text back to the middle layer and positioned it between to tow printer images. The Position Incrementally action is on the top image of the printer so that the text looks like it's coming out of the printer slot!
There is no action to make a smooth movement from one point to the next.

Thanks David!
That looks OK with me so I'll go along with that! [clap]
Cheers

Hi Dave,
David is right. Smooth movement is currently not available on ActivStudio.
But I am glad that this is a hot "new feature" wanted request from many users.
I have edited your flipchart to reflect the actions that I think you want.
Click on the printer to print the page.
Click on your company's logo to reset the page.
Turn your speakers on to hear the sounds.
Hope this helps.

Here's my two-pennarth. I'm still wishing for a smooth slide option in "actions" so that you only have to press the printer once for the page to slide out.
Cheers

So Saha,
Would you be willing to explain how you did what you did? It seems like pretty smooth action to me. We were just doing some training and this topic was brought up. Would love it if you let us in on your secret.
No secret really.
This feature is not present in ActivStudio.
I used Flash output from an application called "Opus Pro"
