View Full Version : Red Lights - No Votes

A few of us here are having problems with 2 sets of ACTIvotes. We have the older models.
We are registering the voters onto all the computers, but each time, there are some voters that will not work. We change the batteries, still nothing.
Other times, some of them will register, then it all stops.
One collegue has noticed that the HUB light in the board goes RED (or pink) instead of it's usual colour. It stays red, and things don't work.
We are having this problem on computers where these ACTIVotes worked fine before, we are just juggling which set the staff get registered on their system, hence the re-registering.

Anyone had problems like this before? Anyone help?

We are all using 3.6, with the latest drivers installed, as we all upgraded when we got our ACTIVexpressions two weeks ago.

Cheers

Hi,
Have you logged this issue with Technical Support? I suggest that you do that as it sounds like it could be firmware issue with the board...however, I am just guessing but they will be able to identfy the problem properly. They will ask for the serial no. of the board and the current firmware - which can be found on the Support section of the dashboard.
i would advise that is what you do next.
Hope it gets sorted.

Hello Craig,

I'm not quite sure what's going on here so could you give me some more info?

When you say the voters don't work, do they do nothing at all or do you see any lights? When you change the batteries and press a button do you get any lights?

When you say 'the HUB light in the board goes RED' which light do you mean - the one on the top left of the Activboard? I assume the votes are communicating via an Activboard, not through an Activhub.

Did the problem only start after you upgraded or was it doing this before?

Sorry to go on, but the more info the better!

Hi Lee,

The voters do flash (the send/recieved lights at the top).

The light that goes red is the one at the top left of the board.

The voters work through the board, not a hub.

They worked fine after I upgraded, and for a couple of weeks. Only recently started messing up.

Cheers

One thing I forgot to ask - does this happen on many boards or just one? If only one the obvious thing is to try it on another to establish whether it is a faulty board.

However, the globe light should not be an unusual colour so I have to agree with Emma that you should contact tech support as they will be able to isolate the problem.

It' s on a few boards, but I've just now registered both sets onto my own laptop, and they appear to work.

Will try to sort the other staff computers later today!

Will keep you posted...

Cheers

I am having the exact same problem today. I share a set with some colleagues, brought the set to my room to use it today and they won't work. I tried reregistering, but it won't do that either. The light at the top right of the board keeps flashing red...
