Need help - action objects

Hi everyone,

I am having trouble using the action objects in my flipchart for my presentation tonight. I will upload it as soon as I fix this little bug.

Here is the problem:
On one slide I have a pencil set to turn the rectangle tool on/off and on another slide I have the same image set to turn the pen tool on/off. The problem is that as I got through the flipchart out of design mode the pen tool never turns on (for freehand drawing), instead it still makes a rectangle. I double checked what I have it set to and they are set to the correct actions.

Does anyone know how to remedy this?

Your pencil is set to - rectangle on/off (click on it to turn it on, but you have to click back on the pencil to turn it off)!
Then, progress to your new page and click on the pencil to turn the freehand draw on. Click on the pencil again to turn the freehand drawing off....

On the attached flipchart I've put the pen on/off object from the Action Objects category of the Resource Library. I've also created a Rectangle On/Off action object. I used the camera tool to take an image of the rectangle button.

Beware that although it switches the rectangle drawing tool on and off, when it switches off, it leaves the pen active. It doesn't return to the Select Tool. Save them into your Resource library if they are useful.

I still can't switch back and forth between the rectangle and the pen. I changed the name of each object and tried clicking the pencil tool before proceeding forward with the next page, but I'm going to go with the pen tool to let the kids be a little more creative. I'm running out of time!

For the future, does this have anything to do with the rectangle tool being clicked in design mode?

Your flipchart works great with the correct actions for me.

I reset your first pencil to rectangle on/off (remember to click on the pencil again to turn the action off the rectangle).
I then kept your second pencil to the pen on/off, and it works perfectly if you just remember to click on the pencil first to turn the action on and click on it again to turn the action off.

Oh, and I am not in design mode!

Both pens have the action Pen Tool On/Off rather than Rectangle On/Off or have I completely got hold of the wrong end of the stick?
It's a great flipchart by the way. I love the idea of using a room makeover to teach area.[clap][clap][clap][clap]

Thanks for all of your help. I keep telling everyone that this is why I love this forum so much. I went back to the rectangle tool and changed the other pencil to be a pen tool. It seems to be working well now.

I appreciate the feedback and will be submitting my flipchart to the Planet.
