Using version 3.6 Mac, how do I import ppt files. I see that the PC version does this and possibly Mac version 2.

The Mac version of Activstudio has two import choices:

Smart Notebook
PDF
However, the PC version does have import from Powerpoint.

I would suggest that you either import it on a pc and save it for your Mac...or...save the powerpoint as a pdf and import it on the Mac.

Hope this helps!

Lisa is right. The best way to do it on a Mac is to print your PPT into a PDF. Then import the PDF.

Any actions that you had created in PPT will not work when you import.

If you import a PowerPoint on a PC, can you then manipulate the text and objects? If I import a PowerPoint on a PC and then open the flipchart on a Mac, will the editing options be the same on the Mac as they were on the PC?

When you import a PowerPoint on a PC you get the option to 'import as seperate objects' or something to that effect.

This will allow you to move images and text. Once you have imported it and saved it as a flipchart you should be able to edit as normal on a Mac

Does anyone know if Promethean intends to update the MAC version to allow us MAC users to import PPTs directly (better yet, lets make it so it can import Keynote docS!)? It seems silly to exclude such an important feature on the MAC version.

You can also open it in Keynote and if it has animations etc you want to keep then export as flash or .mov. Then insert these as a placeholder into your flipchart. Works for both clickable and automated slideshows.
