Hi,

this is reuben from Malta. i need some help, please.????

does as3 accept unicode fonts? and if so, does it accept maltese fonts? for instance, in maltese the letters c, g and z come with a dot over them while the letter h comes with a stroke just like the letter t. maltese fonts in unicode are readily available with windows, but it seems that as3 does not accept them? is it because as3 accepts only true type fonts?

many thanks in advance. i'm sure someone somewhere at Promethean will surely answer my query.

bye bye +wave+ from malta

Hello Reuben,
Unicode is a format used on web pages mainly.

But you can insert Maltese fonts on your flipchart using ActivStudio.

I am attaching some fonts that you will need to install on your computer.
Also you may install the following maltese font using the following link:

http://www.click.com.mt/Starfont.exe

Once you do this you can type Maltese fonts using the following keys:
http://www.prometheanplanet.com/common/html/vb_forum/attachment.php?attachmentid=2530&stc=1&d=1207875154

I was able to type the following Maltese characters on a flipchart with ActivStudio:

Great thanks for your help.

That's what i like about this forum - you always find a helping hand when you need it.

By the way, how come you're so interested in maltese? This really enjoyed me cause many foreigners think maltese is arabic and thus shrug off immediately. If you're interested in maltese language lessons using activboard please do not hesitate to inform me so that i can share my lessons with you.

Again, many thanks mate

Hi Reuben

Just to add to Saha's help

Make sure you've got the multiple language setting checked - studio settings\language

otherwise it won't work properly!

hi louise

thanks for your help

Saha has helped me lots to solve the problem. it seems that as3 accepts only true type fonts but not unicode (or at least unicode for maltese fonts). on our school laptop we only had 1 true type maltese font installed while all other fonts were in unicode. however now, with Saha's help we've got all the necessary true type maltese fonts we need

thanks again for your help

Hi Reuben,

If possible could you upload one or two of the fonts that haven't been working for you onto this thread so we can use them in our testing.

Thanks!
