Typos in "Proof of Pythagorus.flp, Page 13"?

The above-mentioned page has incomplete expressions for the area of the four triangles, in two places. Furthermore, the exponent in (a + b)2 should be raised to avoid confusion. In addition the "a" in the incomplete expression for the area of the triangles in the penultimate line looks like it is in the denominator, and it should be in the numerator.

Is this limited to my iBook G4, or is it universal?

The file is one we ship. It sits in the Secondary/Maths/Spatial folder.
The problem is almost certainly the way the font is being rendered from a PC created flipchart to one viewed on a Mac.

Try updating your Mac software and see if the fonts render better. We have made progress in this area in sorting MAC/PC font problems. There is clearly a problem with superscript in the example you quote. On the PC it renders perfectly.
