I have downloaded several of the great new resource packs available on Promethean Planet. Do I have to re-index in between installing each pack, or will it have the same result if I install several packs and then re-index after the installation of the last pack?
Thanks,
Lori :)

I would think you could wait until you have downloaded them all.

That will be a big time-saver. Thanks, Lisa!

I always install all of them (if I have more than one) then reindex and it works great. It is a great time saver.

I always wondered that but never got round to asking.
Thanks![clap]
If you are pressed for time, then you can always choose not to reindex after downloading new resource.
If you do not reindex , nothing fatal will happen. Reindexing is a database function.
Basically all items in the resource library is arranged and archived in a proprietary database format.
Periodical Reindexing helps you to make your searches from the resource library more efficient and helps to launch your resource library smoothly.

Some of the Resource Packs give me the option to install to My Library OR to the Shared Library. Others automatically install into the Shared Library without giving a prompt.
Is there any way I can make sure the Pack goes in exactly where I want it to, or is that set when the Pack was created?

When I create a resource pack, I created it from a specific "place" in the Shared Resources where I think it should logically fit.
However I try to save it with the option to allow it to be installed elsewhere by the downloader.
in either case, you can alway take the folder and drag it somewhere else in your library from within "windows."

It also depends on how you "Import" the Resource Packs. I tend to save them to my desktop, and if you double click on them there, they will ALWAYS go where they are told to go. BUT, if you open up the Resource Manager, and then click on the import button, you can choose between the Shared Resources or the My Resources. That may save you a step or two!
Hope this helps!

Thanks Lisa and Ben - it is certainly helpful if you keep the options open when creating the Packs.
I was Importing the Packs through Activresource Manager, which is where I came across the problem of not getting the option for some (but not all...) of them

Which ones were you not able to do that with? I have most (if not all) of them, and I can't remember one where the option was not given...
