I would like to organize the items in my resource library that I use or would like to use in one place. I attended a half day training and the representative told me this was possible but unfortunately he was using a PC and I can't get it to work on my Mac. He said to move things from the Shared resources into My resources. I can't drag things from one to the other and I haven't figured out another way to get the items into My Resources. Thanks for your help.

Teresa,
Are you talking about images or other items from the library? If it is images, I REALLY hope this works for Mac, because it works for me on my PC... I just put in on the flipchart page, and then switch the icon from "Shared" to "My" in the Resource Libray area, and then drag the image back into the RL, and it will ask me where to save it...
Sounds like a long process, but it works, and I like it for things I use on a very consistent basis. Hope my directions make sense (and works for a Mac)!

If you have a lot of resources, it will probably be faster to use the Activresource Manager. You can find this in the Activstudio 3 Professional menu under Activextras.
In the menu bar across the top, you will see the same three icons that you see in the Resource Library in Activstudio. If you click on the middle one, that will take you to your Shared Resource Library. You will see the file structure of your Resource Library down the left hand side of the screen. Click on one of the folders that contains resources that you want to copy. You will see thumbnails of the resources on the right side of your screen. If you want to copy all of the resources in a particular folder, click on the first item in the folder, then hold down the shift key and click on the last item. Then hit apple (command)-C to copy all of the items.
Next, click on the left hand icon in the group of three at the top of the screen to take you to My Resource Library. Select the folder that you want to copy your resources to, and click in the window to the right. Then hit apple (command)-V to paste the resources. (If you don't want to copy all of the resources in a particular folder, you can use the apple (command) key to select multiple resources at once.) You can create a new sub-folder by control-clicking on a folder in the file structure, and selecting "new." Type the name of the new folder, and now you can copy your files into the new folder.
You could also do this by opening two Finder windows side by side, and copying the files that way. The advantage of using the Activresource Manager is that you get thumbnails of the resources, so you can see what they are before deciding whether you want to copy them.
I hope this helps. I've attached a screenshot of the Activresource Manager, in case you haven't seen it before.
Repeat this process for as many

Um... I definately agree with June on that one... Wish I had thought to tell you to go to the Resource Manager, but I was stuck in an ActivStudio frame-of-mind at the time...

Now, here is another problem:
Having created new folders in My Collection and having filled them with costumized stuff, having given them keywords and all, I set the Resource manager to index my personal library. All folders and all thumbnails show, everything seems allright.
BUT...when I want to put them on my flipchart, the files won't show in de resource library! The items are there somewhere, 'cause when I search on keywords they appear.
What is going wrong?????
PS
I use the downloaded AP3 on a Windows Vista PC
Hi Tgood,
I would just open two finder windows. One open to the Shared Folders and one open to the My Folders. Then just drag the images that you want to move from one to the other.
