There are lot of time, manual is in pdf format. Wonder can we insert PDF directly on the flipchart, in order us to annotate over it?

Yes, I do it all the time. Have the pdf on the screen and have your tools showing. Select the camera tool, select area, drag the blue shape to include all your image, copy to flipchart, ta da, your done. I would lock it to the flipchart by right click, edit, layer, lock on background. This prevents the page/pdf from moving as you write. - Do others in your school have Activboards?

You can also have your pdf open and choose EDIT - Copy file to clipboard and paste onto your flipchart page.
Or, you can just have annotate over the pdf and make marks, answers, etc. using the pen, highlighter. It is much more clearer this way. You can always save the desktop flipchart and open the pdf back up to review what you've taught.

I know this is a PC thread, but I did want to let you know that the Mac version DOES import directly from pdf. It's really nice in that is "knows" that each page is a separate page and you can import the entire pdf document (or just a range of pages from) it.
I'll attach a sample flipchart where I used a Mac to import a single page pdf.
But, I'll also let you know of some things to be aware of.
Most pdfs were designed to be printed on "tall" paper. Flipcharts are wide so the page will be hard to read and not fit well in most cases... not to mention being typically just black and white and not very interactive!
So... using the camera tool as suggested before to select portions of the pdf (that are appropriately sized for a flipchart page and viewable) may be the best option. And, yes, the zoom tool will work as well.
Last word. Be aware of copyright! A lot of worksheets that you find will be copyrighted.

That's true for capturing selections from a pdf file with the camera , but I was under the impression he wanted to do the whole manual (or even the whole page)....and usually manuals are very lengthy resulting in many flipchart pages being created.
I have a laptop mac, and I am so glad you mentioned the Mac versions capabilities for importing the pdfs. That is an awesome tool. You always have great suggestions....
Thanks again,

Yes, I agree. A direct import of an entire book would be sooo much easier than using a camera tool.
David, if you don't have access to a Mac and want me to import it to a flipchart for you, just e-mail me directly from the forum.
I'll send you my e-mail address and you can send me the file. I'll import it for you and send it back as a flipchart!

I am the only one who own the board in my institute. The rest who need the board will need to make use of my room.
I have try your way, but I notice that I can't get a full screen capture.
If I convert it to full screen on Acrobat and use camera tool on it, it will not be clear once I enlarge it on the flipchart.

Lisa,
Thanks for the example flipchart. One thing that I would do with that is use it just as is, but use the "Page Scale" feature to go to width view, so that the whole page is in view, and I can scroll up and down.
Does your offer to import PDF's go for anyone;)?

Sure, if you have a couple, just send 'em over. It doesn't take but a second to import!
Send me a private message and I'll send you my e-mail address. (I think it's already in my "profile" anyway though.
