Mark students absent when allocating voters?

When I allocate the voters, I can see the little column to the right of the names which presumably allows me to mark some students absent. However, the column seems inactive---it does not allow me to place a checkmark or anything else in that column.

Does anybody know what the problem is? Do I need to be in presentation mode for this to work? I'd test this out, but I'm not hooked up at the moment.

You should just be able to click in that column and an x will appear. Like you, I can't check the exact steps due to lack of board and activotes at the moment!
