View Full Version : Adding Names to Votes MAC
I have used a PC to add names to my voting pods, now I am working with a Mac (V3) and I just cant figure out how to add names to the database so that I can create groups.
I have looked in the training modules but cant seem to find any for MAC - are there some? The one at the end of level one training for voting is really good!
Can someone please help!

Hi Amy
There is now a free online course for Mac here (http://www.prometheanlearning.com/us/index.php). You will find a bit about voting at then end of the training manual but it doesn't deal with named voting.
Here's what you have to do:
Select Open Activote User Database via Dashboard to create a group of names.
Register how many devices you want to use via the Configure tab on the dashboard.
Then Allocate Devices via the Dashboard to assign the names to the devices.
If you need anymore help give me a shout.

How can you change the names on the Activotes for a PC. I have a teacher who registered the activotes and numbered them with permanent ink on the back. When they used the activotes with a flipchart they don't have the same number as what was written on them when they registered them.
I tried to drag the devices in the registering screen like the tool tip says you can to no avail.
Any ideas?
thanks,
Chris McCaffrey????
Hi,
I would re-register the devices in the order they have been numbered - they seem to have got mixed up. You can allocate names as numbers to overcome the problem but I would start from scratch.
Go into device registration and ¨Remove All¨ and then choose ¨Register¨ and register each one in the order they are numbered - that way 1 wil be 1 etc.
If you then want to name them you can but this allows you to track by number if you want but you are actually working in anonymous mode.
Hope this makes sense. There are some se-up instructions on the Activote section of www.prometheanworld.com (http://www.prometheanworld.com)
