Spanish characters in text blocks

All my special characters (accents, tildes, upside down question marks) get changed in textblocks I create. Everything looks fine initially but when I close the flp and come back to it later, those special characters have been transformed into something else. I think this is probably the same problem that JEPatton was having with her special math characters. See previous thread:

Is this bug? Will it get fixed soon? I attach a picture of my problem.

I will jump in and say that after upgrading to 3.6 for Mac (but still on Tiger 10.4.11) I suddenly have quotation marks and apostrophes looking like the letter "O" with some kind of diacritical mark over it (one for each quote). I originally thought this might be a conflict with the Adobe Myriad Pro font that I am using, but perhaps there is something more general affecting special characters. I am attaching a pdf screen shot of the text box when the slide first appears and then after you enter the text box with the text edit tool.

I am having the same problem. It is very frustrating. I have tried saving over and over and the text always reverts. Because I use one of the flipcharts several times a day I tried keeping it open and just reseting, but the reset button doesn't work. The worst thing is, that since I was getting ready to uninstall 2.5, and not knowing about the problem, I set several flipcharts to open only on 3.6, now I can not open them on 2.5 and I will have to create them all over again. :mad: I hope someone is looking into the problem, I noticed that the thread began a few weeks ago and no help yet. ????

As a temporary fix, you can go back to V3.0, which does not exhibit this problem. If you don't still have the disk image from your original installation, you could call Tech Support and see if they can get it to you.

The same thing happens with symbols, and I'm a math teacher, so I've gone back to V3.0. I'm looking forward to it being fixed.

I believe there is a patch on the way to fix this. Look at the support tab on your dashboard and Check for Updates. It should be there by the end of today.

Check your dashboards throughout the day today for the patch update to fix this issue on Activprimary & Activstudio. [clap]

The new versions are 3.6.117.

The updated full web download will be up by the end of the week.

I went to my Dashboard and checked and it said there was a newer version (117) to what I have (114) but the top of the screen still says 114 so I don't want to jump the gun and re-download something I already have.

Can you advise?

This is telling you that you currently have 114 installed and that 117 is available.
You should click the download button and get 117 ;)
