View Full Version : Pen acting funny!

Yesterday, my pen began acting strange w/ my board. It seems to be working when not even touching the board. When I hold it about half an inch out, it begins doing whatever action I was about to do. For instance, it will start writing w/ the pen, so when I am writing words, it has a cursive quality to it because it is recognizing the pen when I am picking it up to write the next letter (it's connecting them). Also, the control-click isn't working (the orange button). I have both version 2.5 and version 3 on my computer (I am not confident yet to delete 2.5 b/c I am still having problems losing flipcharts w/ 3.0), and I am wondering if that could be causing the problem due to the drivers.

Any suggestions?

The first thing I would try is a different pen. Perhaps the "nib" in yours is stuck in a "pressed-down" position.

Or try YOUR pen on another person's board and see if it works ok somewhere else.

At least that should help you eliminate whether it has to do with the pen or not.

Thanks Lisa! I just checked w/ my neighbor's board and her pen works on my board but my pen doesn't work on hers. So it seems that it's probably just my pen that has the problem! Hopefully I can find another one somewhere in the school:)

Try taking the nib out of your pen and putting it back in to see if it was just stuck. Also see if the "right-click" barrel button might be stuck "in" as well. You may want use your fingernail on the side of it (the barrel button) to see if will raise up a bit.
