Activarena will be launched at BETT in January. Speak to your Promethean reseller to see when it will be available in your country.

I really don't want to rain on your parade but - Activarena will be shown at BETT, but it won't be available for some time afterwards because we have decided to include with the release Pressure Pen sensitivity as well. This means you will be able to press harder to produce thicker lines etc. I'm sure artists and calligraphers will apreciate this functionality, but I am sure this will delay the release a bit :o

Hi Pete
Will the pressure pen sensitivity be an option or come as standard?

I had a look at the new Activarena yesterday while at BETT. It looks really good and I should be able to implement it across our offices really well.
I cant wait for it to be released!
Just a quick question though. Do you have to use the new style pens that I saw them using yesterday, or can you use the normal pens and wands that we have now?
Cheers
Dave

My underst6anding is that it will require new pens as there will be a 'master' and 'slave' element to the multi pen system and this will require 'special' pens.

Thanks Dug,
That would make sense to me! The new pens looked pretty funky anyway!

Is there a new picture of the pens, I have only seen the proto types of the red and yellow pens.

So now that ActivArena has been demonstrated does anyone know if you can have more than two people? or is it limited to two?
Two at the minute. I thought I heard mention that they're looking into more than two. Although I guess you wouldn't want too many more due to overcrowding?!

Dug is right, they are new pens. Because of the way in which this new technology works a new pen(s) has to be used.

Here's a quick snap of my two pens. The larger grey one is the master pen, the smaller orange one the secondary pen.

Oh Peter, that doesn't open up a can of questions!! Any estimate of when we might see pressure senstive pens in the Pacific Northwest?
We're taking a slate to an art teacher this week because she has fallen in love with a tablet she was loaned. If we can hold her away from the slate with the promise of pressure sensitive pens she'll be one happy camper.

So, Peter, we are looking at September?
I ask because I have budgeted for them for this school year, which in Australia includes Sept-Dec. But if it is going to be later than that, then I will spend the budgetted $$ elsewhere and request the $$ for them again next year.
Cheers
