I have have finally been able to find time to have a quick look at our beta version of as2.
Our department of E.J.I.T.U. are responsible for all the whiteboards in Staffordshire.
The first thing I have noticed is you do not seem to have the ability to create your own user profile like you can in active studio.
Our schools use this facility a lot due to them sharing computers and also having the software as a package on 2.4 connect.

This was posted in the BETA forum - hope its of use!

One area we have spent some time working on is Network Friendly features.

The basic idea is that you install the Shared Resource Library somewhere on your network.
Then install AS2 onto each Client machine.

Each user by default can then point to the Shared Resources in Settings.

Also, each users personal stuff (toolbox layout, settings, personal resources) are saved by default to My Documents. This location can also be altered to be stored somewhere on the network.

AS2 works with the currently logged on computer user (so no need for a AS2 user list as in AS1).

We've tried to cater for as many network setups as possible.

If you use roaming profiles, AS2 should work with this.
If you JIT install My Documents at user log on, it should work with that also.
If you want users personal stuff to go onto the network, the Settings should allow this (on an individual AS2 basis).

The whole idea is that once a user logs onto a Client machine, they should then be able to see "their AS2" (ie layout/settings/resources) from anywhere in the building.

Just a quick add-on to Cliff's reply, Once you have customised the toolbox to your satisfaction you can save it for future use. This is done under 'Toolbox Customise - toolbox layout - save as...' As mentioned AS2 uses Windows log on as a profile but you can save different toolbox layouts to suit different uses, and, of course, use 'Studio Settings' to assign a location on the network for your saved profile(layout)
