Hi all,
I need help!!!
I have created some flipcharts and uploaded them to my website. I want my students to download the flipcharts and open them in Activstudio Student Edition at home.
However, when you click on the link to the flipchart file, it gives you an option to Save - but it is a strange zipped file with the name of the flipchart that contains three unusable files.
Does anyone know how I can make my flipcharts downloadable from my website for students to use?
Any help appreciated.
Regards, Mark Holland
If you give us a link to your website, I could see what the issue may be.

Okay here is what needs to be done by your students?
How old are these students? What grade?
If they are using Firefox then the students have to right click on the hyperlink to your flipchart and then choose "save target as".
This will download the files in the desired .flp extension format. Once they do this they can launch the files with their student viewer.
If they are using Internet Explorer, then the browser will prompt them to save it. The flipchart file will be saved with a .zip extension. The students will now have to click on the name of the file ( not the file icon) and change the file name to a .flp extention. When they do that, WindowsXP will warn them about losing usability of the file. They need to ignore the warning. Now the file is a standard flipchart file which they can now launch.
This problem will probably not happen on a Mac platform.
Hope this helps.
Using these methods I was able to view both your flipcharts with no problem both using IE and Firefox.

thanks saha. The students are Australian (Queensland) Year 5. The vast majority will use IE.
Tried your suggestion and it worked fine.
Is it an IE thing it wants to save the flipchart with a zip extension?
Thanks for your help.
Regards, Mark
Yes it is a IE or more of a windows behaviour to want to treat a .flp file a .zip file.
In fact when you embed a file inside a flipchart, you are in essence creating a zip file.
