Hi there!
I've been looking for an email system for the primary school I work at. We would really like it if we wouldn't have to spend ages setting up all the users for everyone.
Anyone have any suggestions for a product that might suit us? We're looking to have e-mail addresses for the teachers, admin staff and the older pupils.
Thanks!

Hi, your best bet is probably www.primaryemail.co.uk (http://www.primaryemail.co.uk) - Primary Email, it is Easy to use and is a hosted Microsoft exchange solution so its feature packed.
Lesson plans are available for Unit 3E and include video and text guides.
On top of the Exchange features Primary Email automatically updates users from CMIS/SIMS so you don't have to input children/teacher information (which is always nice :))
There is plenty of spam/abuse/bullying filtering which is quite topical at the moment.
I use it to activsync my mobile phone to my exchange account which means I'm constantly up to date with my Calendar, Tasks, Contacts and Email.
Theres more info available on the site anyway, enjoy and good luck :)

What do you think of this idea..... How about children/students sharing flipcharts. Instead of emails, why not get them to create flipcharts and show within the flipchart pages what it is they would like to "talk" about....+wave+

Thanks for the replies :)
I'll definately have to look into primary email.
I've watched some of the videos, and I am impressed!
I really like the fact that I won't have to sit and manually set up the email accounts. It doesn't like i'll be constantly asked how to do things either, what with the video guides and all!
Margaret: I quite like that idea. I'm not entirely sure I can see an immediate use for it, but it certainly sounds good!
Thanks again,
Carla!
Hi Carla,
If you're in England, you should have a Learning Platform in place by April next year. One of the requirements of Learning Platforms is that they need to provide secure email for all students. They must also have features such as forums (we all know how brilliant forums are!) and homepages for the kids and much, much more.
So... this may be sorted fairly soon.

How about Google Apps Education Edition (http://www.google.com/a/edu/)? It comes with Email, Calendar, Chat, Start Page, Website Creator, Document Manager, and more. Click on the link above for more details. Oh, and did I mention that it is FREE!!
