Being a Maths teacher, I often include grids, tables and equations on my flipchart pages. Usually I use Word to create the grids and tables and then use the camera tool to copy them to my flipchart. I use MathType for the equations - I compose the equation in MathType and then just drag it onto my flipchart page.
The flipcharts look fine at home (on a hi-res monitor) but when I display them at school using the 1024 x 768 LCD projector, occasionally lines will disappear from my grids and tables, and (even worse) from my MathType equations.
Last week I was trying to solve an equation that was on a flipchart and ran into some problems. It was only after a fair bit of messing around that I realised that the '-' sign I was working with was actually a '+' sign - the vertical bar of the plus sign had disappeared. Re-sizing the equation showed the correct plus sign, but only after some angst.
The solution I guess is to use thicker lines for grids and tables, and presumably to use a larger font for MathType equations.
But how thick? And which font size? Has anyone else experienced such problems? Are there some general guidelines available that I should be following to avoid such problems in the future?
Cheers
Rex
