????I have a brand new Vista laptop and have installed the latest version 3.5.27 (i think thats it number) but whenever i open activprimary i am unable to open/see any resources, grids, backgrounds or shapes. I have searched for a solution all evening including in the knowledge base to no avail. Please please help if you can.:( maybe it's something really simple that i have overlooked.
Hi updown,
I'm sorry I can't help but I'm going to piggy back on your thread if you don't mind:).
I've just tried to upgrade to 3.5.27 on my Vista machine and can't even install the upgrade:(. I get a nasty message after it has extracted the Activprimary.msi saying it can't find the 'path specified' it suggests I 'Browse' for a suitable location...:confused::confused:

i had the same problem Dug! Think i right clicked and chose run as administrator instead of double clicking? then again that may be where all my resource problems started!!!!

Hmm...
I've now got a brand new Vista laptop and everthing worked out fine when I installed both Activstudio and Activprimary 3.5. [clap]
I've got to assume you did actually install the resources on the second CD???
Think i right clicked and chose run as administrator instead of double clicking?
Thanks updown. I tried that and it installed without a problem.[clap][clap][clap] I suspect that Pete has the solution to your resources issue.

Depending on the age/status of the laptop, you may need to configure the USB port you're using (despite installing the driver). There are initial instructions in the second post of this thread:

However, I'd suggest you contact tech support if you can't sort this quickly and easily.

1 week old Vista laptop:confused:! Technician has been on to promethean technical support with no luck:(. Funny thing is it worked briefly when i had no resources? but now i have the resources it will not work!! i am so frustrated it's driving me mad!!:mad:
I'm surprised there was a 'no luck' from tech support. Does this mean they've just abandoned you?
Unfortunately I can't replicate the problem as, although I have a vista laptop, I can't plumb it into a board.
As I've already said, I have no problems with the software - not much help to you though.
Hang on in there.:)

no don't think i've (or rather our IT technician) have been dumped by tech support - just they didn't have a solution even after step-by-step phone guidance while at the computer and board. from what the technician has relayed to me sounds like Tech support are as stumped as we are!! oh well i'm sure a solution will present itself in due course - sooner rather than later would be good though!

Probably no help me saying I had no problem with my Vista laptop, but I did install version 3.5 which is Vista compliant and I did install the latest driver from the 3.5 CD.
Have you tried uninstalling and re-installing the driver? My version is 4.1.12.14

well after uninstalling and reinstalling the driver probably about ten times (lost count after 8 attempts!) we gave in and school technician used recovery disc to take laptop back to factory settings, Anyway, after i he'd done that it worked first time!!!!!!![clap] Thanks for all your help.
