View Full Version : object with sound

Hi
I guess this is along the lines of multiple actions.
I have attached a 1 page flipchart to hopefully illustrate what I am attempting.
I would like to be able to move the elephant (currently grouped with some example text) onto the page to reveal the question, but at the same time as I drag I would like it to play a sound.
I have set an action to play sound but as you will see from the top example the action overrides the ability to drag the object onto the page.
Any advice would be greatly appreciated.
Cheers

I think I solved your problem. I created my solution in your flipchart and I can e-mail it to you if you e-mail me at taia@act-ol.com I can not attach flipcharts or documents on Promethean's forum... it beeps at me when I click on the paperclip and it does not allow for any attachments. Go figure. I always struggle with attaching but only on THIS website. :( So, I will attach it and send it to you privately if you wish!

I pulled a square out of the shared resource library. I made it larger then the elephant and then put it on the bottom layer so it was behind the elephant. Then I made the square transparent by using the sliding bar after I double clicked it on the square. (The object edit box has the sliding bar right on it.) Then I grouped the box, the elephant, and your equation together.

Here is your flipchart Paul.
I simply added another object - an arrow and grouped it with the elephant. Select all objects and click on the group icon below. The arrow doesn't have an action so can be used to drag the elephant.
You could use any image object for this.
It is always a good idea to make it obvious to other users who may not be familiar with the actions, what they can click on.

cheers Tai and Alan,
Hadn't thought of approaching the problem by adding another item to the group, the question had arisen as some of my class were dragging the picture out to reveal the question, but also wanted it to play a sound simultaneously (multiple actions on a single click).
Once again special thanks to Tai for all efforts.
Cheers
Paul
Hi Paul,
Both Tai and Alan have given the best workaround for this.
But you are right. For true drag and drop container effect with sound OR for movement with sound, you do need multiple action.
multiple actions are in the works for future release according to Nigel .
