Hello Tai ,
Since you are our tip queen clwn ,
do you have any tips on how to do the following:

-Sometimes I will make an object or a grouped object invisible on a busy flipchart. Then it is hard to find that invisible object in the maze. I usually have to start tapping around the area where I think the invisible object might exist and then I make it visible again.

Do you have any tips on how to find invisible objects on a flipchart more efficiently?

Thanks

(can anyone else answer?)

Not sure about the fine details of this (not sure if it works with groups):

Use this technique:

To make the object invisible, open the Properties and Actions box, find the "appearance" section and deselect the "visible" checkbox.

The object will only be invisible in Presentation Mode. But it will still be visible in Design Mode. So you can switch between the two modes if you want to see where the object is.

Hope that makes sense.

Simon

Another option (although it's adding to the busyness of the flipchart page) is to create small buttons with actions to show the invisible objects when you're ready.

Alternatively hide them off the page in the world area. You could group the object with a small triangle so that it would act as a tab peeking out from the edge of the page, then just drag it onto the page when you need it. I attach a page to show you what I mean. Replace the text and or rectangle with your image.

A 3rd alternative would be to add the object to your Shortcut Bar (the 3rd column) on your main Toolbox. The shortcut Bar can be hidden. Remove the objects later by dragging them onto your Toolstore.

I am flattered with the "tip queen" honorary title, but I really think that there are some excellent (much better) resources then me - like Simon, Margaret Allen, the TLC's, etc. But thank you! :D

I liked David and Simon's tip and if you download my tip flipchart, it shows how to reveal hidden text by setting the text up with a button or an icon to reveal the text.

Also, you could make your object(s) invisible and while you still know where they are located, you could group a small visible icon or label with it... like a small arrow or something, and it would just be a reminder to you as to where to locate your invisible object.

However, if you do a subject keyword search of: tip or trick or training, you should be able to find my tip flipchart that shows many different examples of ways to hide and reveal text. +wave+

I'll be curious to know if you learn something from my flipchart since you probably know most of it already!!
