Hey there,

Lats night I had insomnia and was very bored so I made a little car timer in flash. Set the time between 1 and 60 seconds and it runs along the track.

I'm going to use it for my special needs class as they will respond better to a visual timer like this rather than just numbers on a clock.

It's pretty crude but fun anyway!

by the way, click the car to start it on it's journey!

How cute! It looks like my Honda! Can you edit the time to show alternative times like 10 seconds or 2 minutes?

Just fyi, the new Classroom Management Resource Pack includes lots of timers (6, I believe) that you may want to try out as well.

On US Planet, try: http://www.Prometheanplanet.com/us/server/show/ConResource.11647

On UK Planet, try:

Great, thanks for sharing! Although I felt compelled to sit and watch the screen for 60 seconds to wait for it to go through the finish line!

yeah you can change the time to anything between 1 and 60 seconds and the car will slow down and speed up accordingly

Lara, thats funny, why didnt you just change the time to like 5 seconds!

Ok, I see it now. I was looking for a button to allow it to edit the time. You can, in fact, edit it directly and then click on the car!

5 seconds was great for me!

Because I also didn't realise you could change the time! But now I reread your original post I can see I must have been half asleep earlier

Hi,I loved your car!
Could you tell me the tools you've used to do it? I'm a new user.
Thanks in advance

[clap] I think its great and I admire you for learning to master (at least a part of ) Flash. I gave up after trying to teach myself for about 3 months
Zeca, this has been written in a program called Flash by Adobe and the Flash movie has been embedded in the flipchart page.

Yeah it's made in flash, takes a while to learn it but when you do you can make fun stuff like this, this took me about 30 mins to make.

I actually taught myself the basics of flash in a month, I used a tutorial book then I just fooled around with it a lot, as kind of a hobby. Theres loads of code on the internet you can grab and use/change however you want. Once you start getting to grips with it, its really an easy thing to make stuff like the example I posted, i think it only has 10-15 lines of code :-)
