Bug in the forum?

Hey there, everytime I log in to the forum I have to do it twice, it's really annoying. It says I'm logging in and then it just refreshes and gives me the log in screen again, the second time I do it it works, does this happen to anyone else?

I often click the remember me so I can come straight in without the need to log in but I clear my cookies every few weeks to get rid of any adware etc.

Hmm. Works fine for me. But I typically log in with my Mac running Firefox.

I am guessing that you are attempting to login to the forum directly rather than by logging into the planet site first.

We would rather users logged into the planet website and then followed the link to the forum - that way you are correctly authenticated.

Promethean's web services have evolved over the years and are now quite substantive. The forum software sits on a different server than the main planet website and we use a special setup to host it via the planet domain. If you do not authenticate via the planet site then attempting to authenticate in the forum directly will in some circumstances throw you off the domain and onto the IP of the host server - you would then be able to authenticate there but not be able to transfer easily back to the main site via the drop down menu.

This would explain the 2 login scenario you have presented.
