Hardware not detected - serial port

I am trying to connect my board using the serial port and it can't find the board. I have the red x on the icon and tried all the suggestions already posted. I reinstalled the driver, right-clicked on the icon and made sure it's on automatic, restarted the computed...nothing works. Oh yeah, the board is plugged in. It works fine with my Mac via Bluetooth and USB, but not my PC. HELP!:mad::mad::mad:????:mad::mad::mad:

When I had a similar problem the board had to be unplugged (on the back of the board) and plugged in again. Miraculously it started again.

Can you try to connect the PC to the board using USB?

Please try...and it should work.

I always advise users to use USB over serial.

first of all i hope you have a newer driver, for example 4.1.10.35. If you connect the board with serial you must have a serial port on the pc or a serial adapter and the driver for this equipment.

then right-click on the driver symbol and search for the Com port. this should work! you can find the same port in the hardware manager of your windows system.

i had a similar problem to the one you are experiencing. The order everything is switched seems to determine whether it works for me. it must, in my case be computer first and then everything else. i also must have keyspan serial to USB adaptor connected in order for it work. I hope this helps and your problems, like mine, become a thing of the past!+wave+
