View Full Version : Save JUST annotations?

Im having trouble with multiple flipcharts being saved on the network because a teacher has added some annotations to a few pages and would like to save them and so saves the flipchart as a different filename. This is o.k with small flipcharts but we have Goliath 100mb flipcharts sometimes and saving a new version with sometimes 500k difference is putting a strain on the network space. (Sometimes they are used in activ primary and so not embeding the files is not an option)

Is there any way or function that allow users to save annotations seperately maybe and load annotations INTO master flipcharts. so that we could have one master 100mb flipchart and multiple 500k annotation files instead of one master 100mb flipchart and multiple 101mb flipcharts alongside it.

Hope that makes sense - maybe its a suggestion for a new version or maybe (hopefully) there is some kind of workaround.

No don't think this is possible, but couldn't they save an annotated version locally?

Presumably the flps have embedded video files which is why they are so huge. Another way around this would be to save the video file on the network and link to it but not embed?

Depending on how they use the flipcharts, they may choose just to save the page ot pages they annotate seperately in the pages section of the resource library. This probably will not be suitable in all occassions, but it could work for some.

Thankyou for all your suggestions - much appreciated!

Firstly though margaret, they are not able to save an annotated version locally because on the network (RM CC3), users dont have access to the local drive - only network drives.

Not embedding the video seems to be the best solution HOWEVER this is not an option in Activprimary and trying to get a teacher used to using Activprimary to use Activstudio to create flipcharts is a nightmare. Ill suggest this to the regular Activstudio users though - thanks.

Peter, I really like the suggestion of saving just the pages - ill look into this but there would have to be some sort of filing system within the pages section of the resource library so that users can easily identify what saved pages go with what flipchart.

Again, thanks for the suggestions!:)
