One of our boards has suddenly stopped talking to the pen!! The watermark is visible and I have checked all the connections but although you can type and display on the board from the laptop you can not interact with it.
I tried Tech support twice today but after hanging on for 20 mins each time I gave up!
Searched the forum and couldn't find anything:eek:
Just wondered if anyone else has encountered this and how you fixed it?
I have a free hour tomorrow but would prefer not to use it hanging on the phone!!!????

I'm certainly not technical, but I'll give it a shot. I tried the Knowledgebase for you to see what the issue might be. Sometimes I have gotten an X on top of the board driver in the system tray which means that it (the computer) is not seeing the board.
If you have another USB port, try that one and restarting the computer
I have had in the past some error concerning the Human Interface Device being set wrong.
See if this document will help. I downloaded it from the Promethean Knowledgebase.

You known Caryn, nothing like this ever happens if everything has remained the same since the last time it worked. So you need to investigate what has been done to the computer or the board since it was last working. Sorry I can't be more helpful, but have you got a serial or USB connection? if serial you might want to right click on the driver icon in the system tray and see if you can connect. USB doesn't need any connection settings and in my experience is very reliable.

Thanks for your help guys. I tried all of the above suggestions and nothing seemed to be making a difference
SO. . . I got through to Tech support and imagine my embarrassment when they took me through the checks only to discover that our cleaner had unplugged the board and I didn't spot it in the "spaghetti junction" that hides at the back:o:o:o
DEEP DEEP SHAME!!!!!
The cleaner needless to say has now been given strict instructions!!!!!
Full marks to tech support for not making me feel like a complete idiot!! [clap](I could do that myself)

I sympathise Caryn. That happened to me as a Promethean TLA in front of a roomful of teachers!:o:o Still I think they felt more empathy for me and we all learned to look for the light!

Caryn,
Cannot tell you the amount of times this has happened in my school! When I did a 'If things don't work...' checklist for my staff, this was top of the list! No light=no power...find the plug and turn it on! There's been many a red face, but we always forget the most obvious thing!! +wave+

:D I'm sure we've all been there in some shape or form. I got really mad with a hotel receptionist after she issued me with a third room card and I STILL couldn't get into my room. She politely suggested that I inserted it THIS way round. (I'm sure she sincerely meant into the door lock!) I had of course been using it the wrong way round! DOH! +wave+
