Please advice. Thanks.

Hi David

If the operating system of the computer is in Chinese then as long as 'This application and its associated programs use same language' then it shouldn't be a problem.

Hi

If you can type chinese in windows, ie if your regional settings have all the correct language options selected or if the locale is chinese, then you should be able to enter chinese text within studio

Ensure that studio settings/language is set so that multi language support option is ticked. Then have your windows language option set to chinese & type onto the flipchart page. This should enter chinese text for you.

Hi, David.

I am using Win XP SP2 ENG. Under Control Panel, Regional and Langauge Options, I am using English (United States).

Under Langauge, I have install files for East Asian Langauges.

Under Text Services and Input Langauges, I have add Chinese PRC with keyboard Hanyin Pingying.

What did I miss?

Hi David
I don't think I can offer any more help on this as I don't have the language files so I can't play with it. I'll forward this on to Louise to see if she can shed any more light on it.

Hi David,

You still have english US set as your default windows language so this is what will be used when typing in studio.

You could change your default language to be chinese & then start studio & it should then use chinese when you type.
If you didn't want to change your default language then you could try starting studio, then changing your language using the language bar on the windows taskbar. I have had trouble with this in the past & have had to change it whilst the flipchart is open so either have your flipchart customised to be windows style or have the flipchart sized so that the windows taskbar can be viewed whilst the flipchart is still open.

Hope this helps,

Sorry, forgot this was for Primary.
You will probably have to change the windows default language to be chinese.

Hi Louise,
First I have my computer set up so that I can type in Windows in Chinese.
In ActiveStudio3 I could then switch to chinese and type in Chinese on a Flip Chart , but in Activinspire this does not seem to work.
When you say " Ensure that studio settings/language is set so that multi language support option is ticked" . Well in setting> language> there is no multi language option to tick. Indeed there is no option at all except English(UK) or English(USA).
Am I missing something somewhere-Help please!
