Hi all,

The patch update to the latest version will be available via your dashboard on Friday 4th October. The full version will be available to download by Monday 8th October.

Functionality Additions - Version 3.5.26.

:)Full functionality and support for Windows™ Vista Home Basic, Home Premium, Ultimate & Business Editions UK & US only.[clap]

:)Support for Arabic, Chinese, Russian, Danish, Malay & Korean locales (please note these localised products cannot be ordered on CD until 5th November).

Bug fixes

:)Sound controller no longer moves back to the centre of the screen when a new sound is played.

:)The font selector no longer hides behind the flipchart page when accessed from the adult .handwriting recognition tool.

:)Problems whereby letters would capitalise on the page have been fixed.

:)When creating a recording using the screen recorder tool it no longer becomes out of sync. This is with new settings; existing users may need to change their screen recorder settings manually to see the benefit.

:)Pressing undo on the handwriting recognition tool no longer clears the list of alternatives.

:)Colours can now be changed using all colour palettes.

Details of bug fixes can also be found in the readme.txt (same info as posted here).

Thanks
Katherine

Do you know if this will also fix the problem with selecting additional colours from the menu?

It is there - successfully hidden as "Colours can now be changed using all colour palettes"

My fault, I wrote the readme file from which the details are taken!!

So am I ok to install my current AP3 on my new Vista machine and then access the dashboard for the patch or do I need to wait till Monday for the full version? I'm guessing the second as i didn't think it would run at all on Vista?

I'm running AP on Vista - not without some problems though. In Flp mode it's fine, but it won't work in desktop mode - With Marquee select selected, I just get a arrow-headed cross thingy (object select?) I don't get a 'pointer' for regular computer operation, but I can use the other tools on the floating toolbar (such as pen etc).
It is version 3.0.47 and I'm about to try an update. Will keep you posted.

Upgraded to 3.0.54
Initally appears that the problem is the same a above.
We'll see what Monday brings.

Think I'll wait a little longer then - I do have a beautiful new PC though, so there's lots of other things to play with. Who needs a life?!

Is the Activstudio and Activprimary Version 3 software (http://www.prometheanworld.com/uk/server/show/nav.2785) link (the first link from katherine's UK link) now linking to the latest version - it doesn't mention Vista compatability and I'm reluctant to install it unless it's the right one...

Yes - the one on the download page IS the right one!

I've asked the web team to update this page, my fault, I overlooked that this page needed amending.

I get the attached error message when I try to run the new version. I then get the option to choose where to save it but if I try anywhere I get a message saying cannot save, access denied. I will ring tech support, but not at the moment! Just wondered if anyone else had come across this with Vista?

Probably just as well or I'd be up all night enjoying the wonderful new clarity of picture! (i think I'm back on the no life theme...)

Have persuaded it to save to the downloads area rather than anywhere near program files. But now it won't recognise the serial number, even though the download page did! Definitely time for sleep now. Any help gratefully received...

Hi Lara - you will have used a v2.5 or below serial number to download the software. But V3 has a different style serial number - this is why it doesn't work. If you have v2.5 or below installed it will just drop that serial number into the software automatically - if not you will have to enter it in manually - however if you try and enter a 2.5 number into v3 manually then it's not going to work . You need to contact Tech Support and ask for a V3 serial number.

Hi everyone- there's another small patch update available to fix the voting with Vista issue that a handful of people were having.

Please check your dashboard for the update.

Thanks
Katherine

Such great hopes for this one here... Alack and alas no such luck for the Lake Washington School District:( We're still working on our fix. We have our ideas and have shared them with Tech Support, thanks for keeping us up to date on the latest and greatest.
